Greenfield Village

Mimi and Papaw are in town and we visited Greenfield Village. This was the first time we had ever been there, and we all really enjoyed it. It is alot like conner prarie in Indpls.

Here Lucas is dipping candles, the rule follower was counting exactly as the lady told him to. they were excited to get to take them home. A very cool experience for them and fun to go with my parents.

Whitney is running the printing press and got to take home a sample of what she printed.

Kids at the entrance. They also got to take home cookie cutters that the lady in the tinsmith shop made right in front of us.

Here the kids are trying to get untied from one another. They ad some old fashioned games on the lawn. They have no idea the torture this was posing for my kids to be tied together.

Some Family Pics.

Some family pics of us.
I was in Indy for my grandpas funeral and got one with my parents and brother.
Then one of us in Michigan, a rare photo op

Sanibel Girls Weekend 2008

Kristen, Stef and myself waiting for more food. We ate well while we were there. So much great seafood. All 8 of us at Doc Fords. We had 4 lbs. of shrimp boil delivered to the table. oh so, so good!!

I had such a great time in Sanibel with my 8 best friends from college. I have been friends with some of these girls for 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roomates, bridesmaids, my sounding boards, sorority sisters, commrades in mischief, good friends.

We had a great time eating, laughing, sweating in the sun. Not alot of sleeping, there was to much to discuss, it was worth every minute and I am looking forward to next year already. John was awesome and took great care of the kids while I was gone. The house, well... that is a different story.

Whits softball

And last but surely not least to round out our day today, Whit had a softball game. Oh yea, Luc had baseball practice too. Anyway, she had a great game, got two outs and had a few great hits. It was blazing hot at the beginning of her game, and her clothes were a little damp out of the dryer. oops my fault, forgot to switch them out of the dryer until we were about to leave for her game. Anyway, she did great and we are all exhausted at the end of a long day today.

Two more days of school and we are finished. I hope we make it.

Lucs' program

Continuing on in our day of craziness, we had Lucas' end of the year program. They sang several songs and received awards. His teacher, Mrs. Reed, was also Whits teacher and we LOVE her. She does special awards for the kids based more on their personality or funny things they do in class throughout the year. She gave a friendship award, storyteller etc. She did Lucs' last and gave him the character award for strong moral character and a great example to all in class. Needless to say, I was cryin' shocker to you all. Makes a mama proud I tell ya.

this pic is of him singing one of their songs.

whit at sprinkler park

End of year caos!!!!

The days started with Whitney and her end of the year picnic at the sprinkler park near our house. They got to play soccer, capture the flag, play on the play scape and of course the best part of the day was the sprinkler park. It was a warm day with a nice breeze, perfect for being outside all day. The walk from school was ok, the walk home???????? a little tougher.

Spring Baseball

Lucas is playing baseball for the second year and he loves it. Last night he got 3 outs and had several amazing hits. He got to play pitcher, catcher, 2nd base, and outfield. He says his favorite is pitcher. He definetly looks the part of the baseball player. John is the 3rd base coach for the team.

Spring arrives in Canton

Yes, it is late in the year, but we had a frost at night just last week. So we finally got around to planting some flowers. I remember trying to get this done when Whitney was little during her nap. Now she is helping me and we are doing it together. It is so fun to have them growing up and being such a huge help.
